This is a subharmonic generator similar to my first one, except that this one makes a perfect fifth instead of an octave. It is made up of a digital divide by 3 circuit with symmetrical square wave output. This circuit produces a square wave tone that is one perfect fifth above a tone 2 octaves below the VCO pitch. Example, play a C2 and this circuit produces F1. This F1 is a tiny bit sharper than an equally tempered fifth. The tone produce is not equally tempered, and therefore will beat slowly with an equally tempered fifth. This will "fatten" the sound.
